Cookielicious
Ladies and Gentlemen I made Christmas cookies from scratch last night. Four different kinds. Two of which I blogged about previously and two other ones. I made them for my job and to give away as Christmas gifts. I made White Chocolate Cherry Shortbread, Snickerdoodle Croissant Cookies, Red Velvet Shortbread, and Cinnamon Wreaths. I loved the White Chocolate Cherry ones. Yummo! They tasted like macaroons. I was not a fan of the Snickerdoodle Croissants. I usually love Snickerdoodles but the dough was too dense in my opinion, but the filling was still good. I wasn't sure if I liked the Red Velvet but it was a major hit. Everyone loved them so maybe I'm just not as big a fan of red velvet as I thought I was. Lastly, the Cinnamon Wreaths were delicious. They tasted like spiced sugar cookies. Overall, I was happy with the outcome and I think everyone enjoyed them. One of my friends at work is making the Red Velvet and White Chocolate Cherry now as we speak. So thank you BHG.com for the great recipes! I usually do a Christmas Cookie party for the kids every year and this year I wasn't able to do it so this little venture fed my cookie appetite for the season. We will be leaving some of these out for Santa ;)

What kind of craziness is this? According to the Boston Metro, a British Medical Journal believes that Santa needs to promote healthier lifestyles to children. The whole milk and cookies deal (and the fact that he is has round belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly) apparently is giving the wrong impression to children that its okay to to eat junk and be overweight. ER? Seriously people, raise your own children and stop allowing these outside influences become such a major part of your parenting or lack there of. Its Santa! Is it not enough that you use him to keep your children well-behaved during the holiday season not you need him to get them to eat their veggies too? Santa Clause promotes happiness, joy, love, sharing, charity, faith, and so many of the important lessons of childhood. Why in today's world are we only seeing the negative even in our positive images?

Creepy Much?
Tim Burton has done it again? Does he ever do anything without Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp? (Well, actually, he can put Johnny on the screen as much as he wants ;-p ). Looks like this is gonna be a must-see!

Has anyone tried this new Flip Video camcorder? Its like the size of a digital camera and supposedly records really good videos. Im always trying to capture video on my regular camera or my phone and so Im starting to think this flip video may be a good idea. Yes, it will be yet another electronic to carry around and with the phone, the digital camera, and the ipod who needs another expensive thing to keep track of BUT just think of the hilarious moments you might capture. For my Boston people...The MBTA....enough said. I think this may be a new addition to my big bag of stuff!

Rustic Tablescape
I just fell in love with this tablescape. I feel like I need to host a brunch or party of some kind just so I can use it. This tablescape was done by Karen Mordechai (www.karenmordechai.com) and featured on one of my favorite blogs www.mochatini.org. I am loving the wood plank down the middle because it gives that true rustic feel, especially with the vintage teapots. I am really loving this tablescape right now.

I am such a fan of classic cinema. I think it's so "dramantic"! The overly passionate kisses, the perfectly simple special effects and stunt work, the women that lift their hands to their mouths to give a melodramatic cry as they turn their heads in anguish ~ lol...classic. All this to say the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge is playing one of my very favs this weekend...Casablanca! This movie is the definition of classic and if all goes according to plan I WILL be there to see it on the big screen like it was meant to be seen! So if you're in Massachusetts make this a stop in your weekend plans tonight. 40 Brattle St Cambridge, MA 617 876 6837. Movie Times: 5:00, 7:15, 9:30.

Triple Threat Pie?
Seriouseats.com has posted a recipe for one of their top 10 tasty Thanksgiving eats. The recipe is for a Pumpkin-Apple-Pecan pie. But I just don't get the concept. The pie is split into three separate sections and each section is comprised of one kind of pie. Er??? You still have to slice the pie. Therefore, you will still be getting a slice of one kind of pie or at most half on one side and half on another...still separate. What is the difference between having a pie with three sections and having three separate pies except for the fact that you have less pie? And unless you dont want leftover pie (is there a such thing as leftover pie?!?!?) then, really, whats the point?

...and so it begins
The randomness of life is what this blog is made of. In short, I will talk about anything and everything having to do with life and the art that it is conceived from it. Everyday questions and quagmires, funny moments, moving moments, people watching, and motherhood….cosmetics, fashion, food, interior design, photography, and classic art...and so so much more. All the things that make life complicated and all the things that make life beautiful. I am excited to start this blog and in doing so I hope I may be able to not only share but learn as well. I'm excited about writing this blog and I think the enjoyment will be in all the random fun that life and art bring and I get to talk about :-) . I hope you all enjoy it!
